I am currently dancing with ARCOS and NunaMaana while completing my final semester in the BFA Dance Program at the University of Texas at Austin. Previous collaborations include Ellen Bartel, Manuel Vignoulle, David Justin, Kate Watson-Wallace, Alex Miller, Tapestry, and Galveston Ballet. I have also attended intensives and classes with Houston Metropolitan Dance, ARCOS, Ballet Austin, Trinity Laban Conservatoire/Hofesh Shechter, and Pilobolus.
As an artist, I explore movement in two distinct ways, both from the inside out and the outside in.
I dance with the assumption that my mind and body know more than I realize.
Therefore, I listen deeply to uncover what they have to say.
In addition to my experience with ballet, contemporary, physical theater, and hip hop, I have trained in the athletic techniques of springboard diving and AcroYoga as well as the reflective and cognitive methods of Pilates and yoga. I incorporate a multitude of techniques in order to explore movement from many angles while maintaining a focus on healthy and sustainable movement. For example, I draw from the structure required in ballet, the length found in Gyrokinesis and Pilates, the sensitivity and freedom of Gaga, the strength of AcroYoga and gymnastics, and the versatility of contemporary dance.
